ROCKVILLE, MD (December 15, 2009): At the Institute of Hazardous Materials Management's (IHMM) 25th anniversary celebration held last Thursday at the Tower Club in Tysons Corner, Virginia, Elizabeth R. Pfeiffer, CHMM, was formally recognized as the newest Distinguished Diplomate. Distinguished Diplomate, one of the highest honorary designations conferred by the Institute. The IHMM Board of Directors had elected Ms. Pfeiffer as a Distinguished Diplomate during its quarterly meeting on October 2, 2009.
The Institute recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions to the field of hazardous materials management by conferring the honorary designations of Fellow of the Institute, Distinguished Diplomate, and the Lifetime Achievement Award. The Distinguished Diplomate designation is awarded only to Fellows of the Institute who have contributed noticeably and substantively to the field of hazardous materials management or to the overall Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM®) program.
