Goal:  The Safety Validation Engineer will be responsible for routinely inspecting the equipment to ensure it is being operated safely, as well as conducting regular analysis and proposing necessary modifications to improve the overall safety of the facility.

Responsibilities:

·         Perform all equipment validation in support of group Environmental Health and Safety (EHS)  policy

·         Provide safety risk assessments and administer technical aspects of the site change control system

·         Develop procedures and designs to help create a safe working environment

·         Identify and measure potential hazards such as dangers involved in handling toxic chemicals

·         Recommend appropriate loss prevention measures according to their probability of harm and potential damage

·         Anticipate, recognize and evaluate hazardous conditions and develop hazard control methods

·         Ensure machinery and equipment complies with appropriate EHS regulations

·         Examine and test machinery and equipment such as lifting devices, machine guards etc.

·         Ensure that all standard safety procedures such as the use of personal protective equipment and storage of hazardous materials are used according to regulations.

Requirements:

·         BS in Mechanical, Chemical Engineering or equivalent required

·         3-5  years related engineering experience required

·         Previous knowledge and expertise in Safety regulations

·         Strong communication and interpersonal skills

·         Ability to work in fast paced manufacturing environment

·         Previous experience managing multiple projects at once.

Job Description:         CDM has an immediate full-time opportunity for an Environmental Engineer who is interested in working on site remediation projects. Position requires a B.S. degree in Chemical/Environmental or related Engineering discipline and 2-6 years experience. Responsibilities will include preparing design documents, including calculations, design analysis reports, drawings, specifications, and cost estimates; preparing feasibility studies, including the development of remedial alternatives and cost estimates; conducting field investigations, including planning, procurement, field oversight, and documentation; and providing engineering support as needed. Some travel to perform oversight and data collection tasks, and work in other offices is required. Candidates should have solid technical writing skills and be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite software. Familiarity with GIS and AutoCAD, EIT or PE, and 40-hour OSHA training are preferred.
