Minutes from ACHMM-NJ Meeting (December 10, 2002) @ Willows Resturant, Green Brook, NJ (Holiday Meeting)

Executive Board Members Present- Alain Fortier, Micheal Mandracchia, Kristen Wolansky, Scott Butterfield , Rich Cestone.

Executive Board Members Absent- Pete Downing, Dan Levine

6:00 PM ­ 7:30PM Buffet dinner and cocktails

7:35 PM Alain opened the meeting and welcomed all ACHMM-NJ members and guests to the holiday party. Formal introductions of everyone followed.

Secretary Report- No additions were made to the minutes from the October, 2002 meeting which are posted on the website. Motion made by Merwin Kinkade to approve the minutes and seconded by Floyd Campbell. All were in favor, none opposed, no abstentions.

Treasurerıs Report- The chapter has $26,528.24 in the account. Treasurerıs report was approved. All in favor, none opposed, no abstentions.

Alain talked briefly about the development of a new Chapter Logo and encouraged members to submit suggestions.

Nominations for the 2003 Board of Trustees were read again. No new nominations were made at this time. Al Arnofsky made a motion to approve the nominations and Bob West seconded it.

New Business

• 2003 Board Election- Nominations for the 2003 Board of Trustees were read for the third and final time. No other nominations were made. Al Arnofsky made a motion that since only one person was running for each available position that only one vote be cast by the President for all nominees. Bob West seconded it. Motion was carried and the President immediately cast his vote in favor of the entire slate of candidates.
The elected 2003 Board of Trustees is as follows:
• President- Mike Mandracchia
• VP/President Elect- Scott Butterfield
• Secretary- Scott Sherman
• Treasurer- Rich Cestone
• Trustee(2 yr.)- Barry Weissman
Trustee Barry Weissman was not at the meeting and it was decided that he will be sworn in at the Jan., 2003 Executive Board Meeting.
• Alain presented an award to Past President, Pete Downing, for his service in 2001.
  Pete was not present to accept his award.
• New president, Mike Mandracchia, talked about some of the visions which he had for 2003 which were:
  1. NJDEP is pushing for a certification as a ³Registered Remediation Professional² which would require a master CHMM credential as well as passing an additional exam. This is great news for the CHMM credential.
  2. Development of a ³Past Presidents² committee for the chapter.
  3. The need for more membership volunteers to work on committees.
• Alain talked briefly about the upcoming first general membership meeting in Feb., 2003 which will be held at J&J in New Brunswick, NJ. There was talk of a blood drive being scheduled at this meeting. More information will be posted on the website.

Meeting was then adjourned. Motion was made by Rich Cestone and seconded by Merwin Kincade.
