Secretary Report(SS)- Minutes from the October meeting were approved.

Treasurer’s Report(RC) - Balance of $28,581.57 account was reported. Rich talked about how the courses that the chapter held were the money makers for the past year. In addition, we have $5000.00 in 1 yr. CD’s.

Combined Dues(RC)-Rich talked briefly to the membership about the new payment of combined dues for the Academy and the NJ Chapter for 2004.
Board Elections(MM)-Mike announced the nominations again which were:

No nominations were made on the floor. Secretary Scott Sherman cast vote in favor of the election slate. A final announcement was made.
Bylaws Change(MM)-A bylaws change (Article 3) which would include two new Trustee positions was discussed by the membership. A vote was taken among the membership with all in favor, none abstained.
New Trustee Position Announcement(MM)-Mike announced that Diane Pupa has accepted one of the trustee positions and that one was still open. Kristen Wolansky nominated Nazer Ali for the open trustee position.

Secretary Scott Sherman cast a vote to approve the names of Diane Pupa and Nazer Ali as Trustees for 2004.
New Business
Past President Award(MM)-Mike presented an award to Alain Fortier for his dedicated service to the NJ Chapter as President in 2002.
General Announcements
CHMM course-Scheduled for next spring at NJDEP. More info will follow in the coming months.
EPA Region II Course- Mike stated that he was in currently talking to the EPA about presenting a CHMM review course at the EPA Region II office in Edison.
Peter Spinney representing the IHMM talked to the membership about the need for new questions for the CHMM exam and that recertification points are available for this. He also talked about benchmarking questions on the exam. The IHMM is currently considering presenting benchmarking questions at the CHMM review course.
There was a floor discussion about the need to update the course modules for the CHMM review course. It seems that the NJ chapter will be taking a lead in this project.
Logo Contest(MM)- The final voting for the logo contest was conducted before the meeting. Mike announced the winner. This logo will be used on our website and all chapter correspondence in the future.
Swearing In Ceremony- All present 2004 Board Members were sworn into office. Diane Pupa was absent and will be sworn in at the Jan. 2004 EB meeting.
8:30 PM- Assistant NJDEP Commissioner Evan Van Hook presented his talk about “Brownfields Redevelopment and The Cleanup Star Program”. Some highlights of his talk were that 411 applications for the Cleanup Star Program have been received and the acceptance notifications will be going out soon. In addition, workshops for accepted applicants should begin in Jan. 2004.
