Minutes from ACHMM-NJ General Membership Meeting @ J&J on February

Executive Board Members Present- Scott Sherman, Rich Cestone, Scott Butterfield, Barry Weissman, Nazer Ali, Mike Mandracchia, Dan Levine, Jim Ross

 

Executive Board Members Absent- Diane Pupa

 

7:20PM- President Scott Butterfield called the meeting to order. Personal introductions followed.

 

Old Business

 

Secretary Report(SS)- Minutes from the December, 2003 meeting were approved.

Motion-Al Arnofsky

Seconded- Mike Mandracchia

All in favor. None abstained

 

Treasurerís Report(RC) - Balance of $31,717.83 was reported. Rich reported that the chapter made $4600.00 in 2003.

All in favor. None abstained.

 

Committees

 

a. Professional Development(DL)- Dan talked about the upcoming Hazwopper refresher course. In addition, Mike Mandracchia talked about the CHMM courses at the NJDEP and EPA Region II. The Academy has asked the chapter to put on a CHMM course at the Las Vegas National Conference. More info later.

 

b. Membership(JR)- Jim talked about the need to reach out to CHMMís to increase the membership.

 

New Business

 

a. 2004 Operating Plan(SB)- projections are to be $3000.00 ahead of last years income.

 

b.ACHMM Awards(SB)- Scott encouraged everyone to check out the awards on the National website and to send in applications for these awards. The EB will be working over the next two months on award applications.

 

c. Featured Presentation(DG)- Dave introduced Al Iannuzzi of J&J who talked briefly about the J&J Environmental Program. After Al talked briefly, Dave introduced Brad Verrico of Verrico Associates who presented a talk entitled “Responsible Care”.

A question and answer session followed.

 

d. Future Meetings(DG)- The March EB is being held at the Rutgers Club. April is still open and the EB is looking for a site. Dave mentioned that Omega Environmental is interested in sponsoring one of our meetings thid year.
