ACHMM-NJ General Membership Meeting @ Empire Club on June22, 2004

6:00PM-7:05PM- Networking and Dinner
7:10PM- Call to Order(SB)- Scott welcomed everyone to the meeting.
Moment of Silence for Jim Ross(SB)- There was a moment of silence for Jim Ross who had recently passed away.
Scott Butterfield announced to the chapter that because of Jim Rossís sudden death, Barry Weissman would become the new VP, President Elect as voted on by the EB. Swearing In of Barry followed. Scott Butterfield performed the Swearing In.
Scott Butterfield also announced to the chapter that a possible scholarship in memory of Jim Ross was in the preliminary stages. More info later.
Member Joe Besca suggested that a scholarship at Mercer County Community College be established in memory of Jim Ross. Jim taught chemistry at the college.

Reports and Committees
A. Secretary Report(SS)-Minutes from the April general membership meeting were approved.

B. Treasurers Report(RC)-Rich reported a balance of $36,690.00. There has been $11,000.00 income made from the courses that the chapter runs. In addition, Rich made a general announcement that money orders would no longer be accepted for payment of dues/meetings. Only cash or checks.
Committees
Professional Development(DL)-no report
Membership(BW)- no report
Government Affairs(BW)- Barry reported that he is the moderator on a Yahoo NJ regulatory affairs group and asked members to sign up. SS will send out a broadcast Email to the membership on this.
IHMM(PS)- Peter reported that the Institute is going to online for everything including recertification. The idea is to streamline everything.
7:25PM-Dinner break
Raffle(SB)- The chapter raffled off a IHMM reference book and a ACHMM reference book. The winners were Chris Harrington and Barry Weissman.
Nominations for 2005 EB(SB)- Scott asked the membership for candidates for officers and trustees for 2005.
Programs(DG)-Dave announced that the August meeting would be held on Thursday, August 26th, at the NJDEP headquarters in Trenton. The October meeting will be a joint meeting with ASSE in Middlesex County. More info later.
8:10PM- Dave introduced Omega Environmental and Veronica Kero and her talk about IAQ followed. Focus was on terror applications in IAQ. Dave announced a $400.00 donation to the NJ chapter by Omega Environmental Services Inc..
Scott Butterfield presented Veronica Kero with an official CHMM mug as a token of appreciation.
