ACHMM-NJ Meeting Minutes @ Wyeth on April 26, 2007

Executive Board Members Absent- Dan Levine, Chandra Jennings

 

7:10 PM Cheryl called the meeting to order and thanked everyone for coming. Personal introductions followed.

 

Treasurers Report (RC)-Balance of more than $52,000 with $24,000 in four CD’s with an interest rate >5%. One CD was cashed in for 6K and re-invested with an interest rate >5%. Members were encouraged to update any contact information via form on the Chapter Website.

 

Secretary’s Report (DP): The Feb. 27^th meeting minutes from Bristol Meyer Squibb were approved.

Programs(CP)- Cheryl announced the following:

• June Chapter Mtg - June 26 - NJDEP – Joint mtg with Philly Chapter – Topic: Grace Period Rules, Speaker Irene Kropp, DEP’s Assist. Commissioner of Site Remediation
• NOC will be held at NJDEP-Trenton again this year, May 1^st, 8^th, 15^th and 22^nd.
• National Conference is August 12 thru 15 in Washington DC area. The Chapter won the Northstar Award at National last year for the chapter with the most members present in Orlando.
• October Chapter Mtg - Oct 23 – L’Oreal in Clark – Topic: Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals
• Dec Chapter Mtg – Tentative - WEDNESDAY, Dec 5, Willie’s Tavern, Bedminster.
• Any suggestions/volunteers for speakers/hosts for future meetings contact VP John Egan.

 

 

Regulatory Affairs(BW)- none

 

 

Awards (CP/DP) –

9 Champions of Excellence submitted for Chapter; plus Honor Roll of Champions & Chapter of the Year. Nominations due out on CD 1^st week of May to committee members, with final award recommendations to national the week of May 23^rd. No NJ nominations will be reviewed by NJ chapter member(s) so that the committee maintains ethics integrity.

 

 

 

New Business (CP)

 

Chapter Website Update – Volunteers wanted to assist w/ planning & re-design of chapter website. People who are interested in assisting please contact Diane.

 

ACHMM Update(CP for MM)

Revisions to the National By-Laws were finalized by committee; will be sent via snail mail to all members for final vote. If approved, NJ Chapter will have to revise its by-laws as well to be consistent with those new changes.

 

Scholarships (DL)

Jim Ross Scholarship: One person applied from Rutgers.

Dalton Hazardous Materials Scholarship: Applications are still being accepted until May 15^th…so far no one has applied.

 

 

Technical Session followed the meeting.
